Kenneth Gregg - THE GREGG COLLECTION www.photographicart.com/
Kenneth Gregg was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1947. At 10 years old, his parents gave him a box Brownie camera. Within a year, he had built a darkroom in the home basement and was developing and printing his own black and white images. He became photo-editor of his high school newspaper and yearbook. After graduating from UC Berkeley in 1969, he traveled internationally as the catalogue photographer for The North Face outdoor equipment company for ten years.
After leaving The North Face, he turned his artistic endeavors toward pictorial photography of old California, self-publishing books on Santa Barbara and on the Santa Ynez Valley. Numerous corporations have purchased Gregg's artwork for their collections. His work has also been used extensively for promotional brochures, calendars, greeting cards, book covers, and award-winning wine labels.
In 1991, he began selling his artwork to luxury hotels and restaurants for permanent decor. His painterly style, using a minimum of digital manipulation, creates sensitive and contemplative images well-suited for both hospitality and residential decor.
Charles Grogg www.charlesgroggphotography.net/
Charles Grogg is a fine art photographer who works with botanical, still life, and natural imagery.
As a cross-disciplinary artist, Charles has synthesized imagery from literature as well as the pictorial arts into his imaginative workflow. Botanicals and other natural imagery, architecture, and nudes are often isolated from environmental backgrounds both to draw attention to their inherently sensual details and to make their implausible disconnection from the natural and vital world a cause for further investigation. The resulting portfolios marry the visible world to an audacious desire for satisfying forms. But, more intriguingly, the finished prints of these images are sensual artifacts, developed and toned in silver gelatin or luxuriously handcoated platinum/palladium on handmade Japanese gampi, a rare and beautiful washi.
